Every successful design begins with a vision—of space, material, and atmosphere. Too often, that vision is compromised when lighting is considered too late in the process.

Join us for an engaging conversation between Christine Heller, Principal Lighting Designer at Focus Lighting and veteran interior designer Nancy Mah of Nancy Mah Design as they explore the essential partnership between their disciplines. Using a current residential project as a backdrop, they will discuss how early collaboration shapes outcomes-from the first material selections to the final experience of a space.

Together, they will unpack:

• Why lighting design must begin at the earliest stages of a project,

• How to align lighting strategies with the interior vision and material palette,

• The role of light in revealing texture, color, and depth,

• How layered lighting creates mood, flexibility, and a sense of wellbeing, and

• The ongoing dialogue between designer, lighting designer, and client-and why "no surprises" matters.

This is a conversation about process as much as it is about outcome-about how thoughtful integration of light elevates interiors from well-designed to deeply felt.
